Dr Rawiphan WITOONPANICH

Dr. Rawiphan Witoonpanich is an Associate Professor and Consultant Neurologist at the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok where she obtained her medical degree and has been working ever since she finished her training.  She had most of her neurology training in England.  She worked at the Regional Neurological Centre (Newcastle General Hospital), Newcastle-upon-Tyne,
a centre well known for muscle diseases led by Professor Lord Walton of Detchant. The inspiration from that centre has had much influence on her subsequent fields of interest and expertise. She later went on to have more training in neurology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square (NHNNQS) and St. Thomas’ Hospital in London. She also worked in the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at the NHNNQS. Her fields of interest and expertise include neuromuscular diseases particularly myasthenia gravis and clinical neurophysiology (electromyography). She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physician of Thailand and London, former President of the Neurological Society of Thailand, a member of the Executive Committee of the Asian and Oceanian Myology Centre and President of the Asian and Oceanian Chapter of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology.
